As you probably know, there are several certification opportunities for biobased products worldwide: the OK Biobased logo from Vinçotte and the DIN-Geprüft Biobasiert logo from DIN-Certco (both in Europe), the USDA BioPreferred program (US), the BiomassPLA scheme (Japan),… Do you already have any idea which certificate your client would like to obtain?

However, if your client would like to seek certification with DIN-Certco (Europe), testing would need to go through us as we have applied for and are approved by DIN-Certco as a recognized laboaratory for this kind of testing (while Beta Analytic is not). Part of the testing will still be performed by Beta Analtyic, but results will be integrated in a report of OWS and we will take full responsibility. Furthermore, we will also make sure that further contact with the certification bureau runs smoothly and that the results are provided to them asap.

In annex I have attached a standard proposal for such a ¹⁴C analysis. The price per sample would be 686.5€. In case multiple samples would need to be tested in parallel, we can offer a 5% discount per sample, bringing the price for 3 samples to 686.5€ * 3 = 2,059.5€ - 5% = 1,956.5€. With regard to the required amount of sample, we would need only about 100g of each sample (film, pellet,…).

Please let us know in case you would like to proceed, after which we will send you a document for confirmation of order which would then need to be returned after signing. Testing can in any case be started immediately and results should then be available within 2-3 weeks.

Our company currently has three types of products  packaging and  resins are mixed with starch as follows:

  1. The first type: PP resin (attached image file), this product contains 40-50% PP and about 50-60% starch content.

  2. The second type: PE resin (attached image file), this product contains about 40-50% PE and about 50-60% starch content.

   3. The third type: HDPE plastic packaging (attached image file), this product  contains 70-80% HDPE and about 20-30% starch content.
